”Who are you?”

”Destiny.”

”What do you want?”

”I’ll show you your destiny, you fool.”

”I know that. What I meant was: why me?”

”Because you are the next.”

”The next who?”

”The next victim.”

”I thought you said you were Destiny.”

”Yes.”

”Then why am I a victim?”

”Because it comes with me.”

”What???”

”You really are a fool. But what was I thinking anyway? No one knew before, why would you?”

”Know what?”

”We’re the same. We are inseparable. We can’t exist without the other.”

”We?”

”Me and Death.”

”???O_O???”

”Why are you so surprised? What did you expect? Finding true love? Having kids? Living happily ever after?”

”Well… I hoped at least.”

”Everyone has hopes. But that’s not my business.”

*pause*

”So… what’s now?”

”As I told you before –once or twice if I recall correctly- I’m going to show you your destiny.”

”But you said you’re also Death.”

”Hello?! Have you looked out of your car window yet? You’re sitting at the bottom of a huge freaking chasm! I can’t even see your legs from here! They’re probably somewhere below the rocks over there.”

”Whoops. Haven’t noticed. My mistake.”

”Well, it’s OK. Forgive me if I was rude. You see…*sigh*… I’m a bit exhausted. All this work. And I’m working for two! God said the budget was too high so he fired Death. And who do you replace him with? Of course Destiny! Good little Desty has too much free time. Why not giving him more work? And now here am I, trying to explain to people that when they finally found me, they’re going to die. This sucks. Big time.”

”Gee man. I’m sorry. Didn’t know. Really. Can I do anything to make you feel better?”

”Well, if it’s not too much to ask of you, would you… I dunno… hurry up a bit? I could really do with a little rest.”

”’Course man. I’ll do what I can.”

”Thanks. You’re a good man. I’ll make sure you’ll get to Heaven. The Big Guy will be glad to have someone like you at His side. Not fooling around like some people. No. It’s a shame you have to die so early. *thinks* Hey! You know what? Can you play poker? We could play when you’re ready. Or canasta… ?”

”Wow. Now that was fast. Maybe now I can have a little break.”

*walks off*

”Hey you! Over there! Don’t you dare jumping off that cliff! Wait, wait! Can’t we just talk it over? It can’t be that bad. I’ll pay you! Wait! Nononono!”
