Broken pieces of my life

Scattered all around me

I’m lying here all alone

Fading away blindly.

Tiny bits of past smiles

Forgotten names and places

Hollow sounds of old lies

Blurring cascade of faces.

They surround me

Swallow me whole

Keep whispering in my ear

Won’t let me go.

They all seem so weak

So fragile

How should I put them together?

How should I start?

I lost the pieces on the way

The ones that were important

I kept clinging to hopes and dreams

That reality blew up.

Shadows keep stealing them away

Slowly, slowly one by one

I reach out for them desperately

But it’s no use they’re gone.

They leave me behind

Traitor memories all they are

Nothing I ever do

Keeps them here by my side.

You left me, too

You know that, don’t you…

You’re worse than all of them

’Cause you left and took my heart away, too.

So get out of here shattered pieces

Leave me alone you past ghost

I don’t need anyone here

As I write these last few notes.

Maybe if I write this down

It wouldn’t feel all like a dream

Like I haven’t lived so far

And this is all I’m able to give.
